You are invited to the interactive workshop “Human Rights and Diversity Footprints: Memorialisation in Public Space.”
The workshop invites participants to reflect on how the struggle for human rights and respect for diversity are represented in urban environments. Together, we will explore how street names, monuments, and other elements of public space shape collective memory — and how art can help make that memory more inclusive.
A key part of the workshop will be an exploration of the streets of Valletta — a city that embodies multiple cultural layers and historical influences. Participants will observe how themes of human rights and diversity are reflected in the city’s landscape and will collaboratively create an interactive map of human rights “footprints” in their own countries.
The event aims to foster dialogue between artists, researchers, human rights defenders, and the wider community, creating a shared space for reflection and creative engagement with the past.
