The Democratic Initiatives Incubator invites you to take part in the online meeting “Specifics of Organizing and Conducting Educational Activities to Prevent and Combat Discrimination for Members of Communities Facing Discrimination“. The event is held for people from the Eastern Partnership countries interested in this topic. The working language is English.

When?

October 11, 2022, 19:00 Kyiv time (Kyiv, Chisinau, Minsk: 19:00; Baku, Yerevan, Tbilisi: 20:00). Duration – 90 minutes.

Where?

Online meeting on the Zoom platform.

Who are we inviting?

All people interested in the topic, and especially those who work in the field of civic education.

– what makes members of communities facing discrimination a separate target audience in educational programs;

– why it is important to work with members of communities facing discrimination and how this work contributes to the establishment of equality;

– what is important to consider when planning and conducting educational activities for members of communities facing discrimination;

– examples of the best practices in educational activities for members of communities facing discrimination.

  • You will get to know colleagues in the Eastern Partnership countries.
  • You will receive a certificate confirming your participation.

Who host?

Speaker – Ganna Dovbakh, trainer, researcher, manager, supervisor, technical support provider, author of numerous publications in community engagement and self-organization, HIV programs, comprehensive health and social programs for key populations and organizational support for LGBTQI, people using drugs, sex workers and people living with HIV. Since 2017 Ganna is Executive Director of Eurasian Harm Reduction Association uniting 342 organisations and activists from 29 countries of Central, Eastern Europe and Central Asia to ensure a progressive human rights-based drug policy, sustainable funding advocacy and quality of harm reduction services oriented on needs of people who use drugs. She is LGBT and human rights activists, feminist, and mother of adult daughter. Being originally from Ukraine, lives in Vilnius, Lithuania.

Moderator – Nazarii Boiarskyi, Democratic Initiatives Incubator NGO, member of the Trainers’ Pool of the Council of Europe, independent expert of the Eastern European Network for Citizenship Education (EENCE).
